New South Wales government starts trial of hunting in national parks
Monday, February 17, 2014 On Friday afternoon, amateur shooters were briefed about a three-year-long trial of hunting in national parks of New South Wales, Australia. The meeting was held in Griffith near Cocopara Nature Reserve, where the first shooting operation of the trial was to occur on Saturday, targeting the feral goats. The National Parks Wildlife Service (NPWS) has used aerial culls and baiting to reduce Cocoparra’s goat population, but there are said to be thousands of goats at the reserve. The feral animals to be hunted in other reserves may include cats, deer, dogs, and pigs, beside goats — depending on the reserve. Shooters in the supplementary pest control trial were to be closely supervised by rangers, as the trial was monitored and its effectiveness evaluated. In a partnership of NPWS and the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc, qualified volunteers were recruited, under the Sporting Shooters Association’s…
Rc Rtf Helicopter Are Your Kids Saying I’m Bored
More On This Topic: Richard Light Submitted by: Bryon Gunderson Are your kids starting to say “I’m Bored!” Maybe an RC RTF Helicopter (Radio Control-Ready To Fly) will keep them busy for a while. There are some fantastic radio control electric helicopters, relatively inexpensive, that are very easy to fly, and will keep someone occupied for hours, well, until the battery runs down, but hey, just charge it back up and it’s ready to go agian. I’m talking about a mini helicopter, about 8″ long and 4″ high. You fly them indoors, the living room, basement or where-ever there’s enough room. Why these are so easy to fly is because they are a “coaxial helicopter” meaning they have 2 counter-rotating blades, which eliminates the balance problems like with other helicopters wanting to tilt side-to-side or dive. To fly, all you need to do is charge the battery, follow any instructions…
Neanderthals ‘knew what they were doing’: Archæologist Dr Naomi Martisius discusses her findings about Neanderthals’ behaviour with Wikinews
Sunday, June 28, 2020 Last month, a study conducted by archæologist Dr. Naomi Martisius and other researchers concluded Neanderthals living in Europe tens of thousands of years ago were more sophisticated than previously thought. The now-extinct species used to carefully select bones from a particular animal species to manufacture their bone tools, the research showed. The research was published on May 8 in Nature’s Scientific Reports journal. Dr Martisius and her team used five bone tools discovered from Neanderthals’ sites in southwest France for this research. Four of these bone tools were found in a site called Abri Peyrony and the other one was from Pech-de-l’Azé I. These tools were just a few centimetres in size and were about 50 thousand years old, Dr Martisius told Wikinews. Microscopy analysis of these bone tools called lissoirs (smoothers) suggested Neanderthals used these tools for working animal skin to leathers. The study stated…
Bangladesh government makes Hijra an official gender option
Monday, November 11, 2013 Earlier today, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina chaired a cabinet meeting which decided to grant official government recognition of people who gender identify as Hijras, people who identify as neither male nor female. Recognition brings several government related benefits to Hijras including priority in education, housing and health. Their gender designation will also appear on their passports as Hijras. English language documents will refer to them as Hijras as the government claims any English translation would be misleading. The decision was announced by Cabinet Secretary Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan at a media briefing following the meeting. Hijras already have voting rights in Bangladesh. A survey by the Ministry of Social Welfare says 10,000 people who identify as Hijras live in the country. Getting Skilled Toronto Injury Lawyers
More On This Topic: Australian Ir Policies Submitted by: Ethan Fisher Even as you are recouping from an accident from a personal injury employing an injury lawyer will be really advantageous, even so selecting the top injury lawyer will be very hard. Selecting a skilled lawyer will be the distinction between succeeding in a personal injury case and losing hard earned money. So, what are several necessary aspects to look for? This is not inevitably since you are registering a litigation previous to the day comes to an end. That just denotes you want a knowledgeable person to examine if there are justifications for a litigation, and if that’s the case, whether or not a court action is the better alternative in your case. You don’t have to care for payment at the moment, because nearly all first consultations with these law specialists are completely free. Using the services of…
Plane crashes into office block in Austin, Texas/suicide note
This is the online suicide letter authored by Andrew Stack, the man believed to be responsible for flying a light aircraft into a building in Austin, Texas. It was originally posted at Stack’s site, http://embeddedart.com/. The hosting company, T35, took the site offline per an FBI request. The note is reproduced here in its entirety. If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially…
RuPaul speaks about society and the state of drag as performance art
Saturday, October 6, 2007 Few artists ever penetrate the subconscious level of American culture the way RuPaul Andre Charles did with the 1993 album Supermodel of the World. It was groundbreaking not only because in the midst of the Grunge phenomenon did Charles have a dance hit on MTV, but because he did it as RuPaul, formerly known as Starbooty, a supermodel drag queen with a message: love everyone. A duet with Elton John, an endorsement deal with MAC cosmetics, an eponymous talk show on VH-1 and roles in film propelled RuPaul into the new millennium. In July, RuPaul’s movie Starrbooty began playing at film festivals and it is set to be released on DVD October 31st. Wikinews reporter David Shankbone recently spoke with RuPaul by telephone in Los Angeles, where she is to appear on stage for DIVAS Simply Singing!, a benefit for HIV-AIDS. DS: How are you doing?…
